J Dusi

 

It’s simple, it’s me, it’s Dusi Blue!

That is the inspiration I found in creating my name and my label. I feel my label represents; me as creator of this wine, my family name and my favorite color, Blue. For as long as I can remember, I always saw my Grandfather, Dante Dusi, painting everything Blue. His old International trucks, now Blue! Old rotatillars, Blue! His air-compressor, Blue! Random tools in his shop, he would paint blue so everybody would know they were his, and he would say, "Now, they're Dusi Blue!."

 

In designing the label, I knew I wanted to incorporate the color, and the notion of blue paint made it easy to put together. With perceptions of a designers samples, it was a brushstroke of a J in blue paint that caught my eye, the curvature of the J enticed me! I think of it as very abstract and with a little imagination looks like a glass of swirling wine. The J Dusi has expanded into a very few small production wines of Carignane and Syrah, in addition to the mainstay Zinfandel.  These lots all carry the blue swoosh label while Zinfandel Port retains the burgundy color, pink for Rose and the Zinfandel grappa with an icy blue label design.  

    

After reading a little of my history, thoughts and pictures, I think you will see why I could not fit my story on the back of a label! Instead, I hope I have captured my goals and aspirations in one remark….
